Meet Katie Douglas

Registered Kinesiologist

Katie is our ergonomics specialist that is dedicated to getting you the most out of your office space. When she's not doing that, she provides exercise-based 1-on-1 care and coaches multiple Barbells4Bones classes on Mondays. When she's not at the office, you'll definitely find her chasing her boys around hockey rinks all over Ontario!

Get To Know Me

Katie has always had a fascination for human movement.  Growing up in Owen Sound, ON, she was an avid highland dancer, involved in school athletics and a fan of nature and outdoor adventure.  She also had a passion for helping others.

Kinesiology is the science of human movement, applying the latest evidence-based research to improve function, health and wellness.  Feel better.  Live better.  Move better.  Katie can help improve your health, mobility and well-being.  From treating common injuries to helping prevent some of the most serious medical conditions, exercise prescription is just what the doctor ordered!

Katie graduated from the University of Victoria with an honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, and top of her class with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation from the University of Otago in New Zealand. Katie has over 15 years of clinical experience as a Kinesiologist.  She worked for more than a decade in New Zealand and Canada with CBI Health, an international leader in rehabilitation services (formerly Canadian Back Institute) treating individuals with an array of physical impairments following workplace, motor vehicle, sports or personal injury.

In addition to private practice, Katie also works for a local manufacturing company providing occupational health, safety and wellness programs for employees working in the office and rotating 12 hour shifts.

Katie is excited to be back in her hometown and is actively involved in the community with her young family.  Her husband David and two sons (Tamati and Fisher) keep her busy between school events, hockey arenas and getting out cycling and skiing as the seasons permit.
