Get To Know Me
I grew up on the lake in Northern Ontario where I spent my life swimming. I started lifeguarding when I was 14 which led me to pursue a diploma in Recreation and Leisure and a career that began in Aquatics. I’ve now been working in the Fitness and Recreation industry in various capacities for over 25 years with over 20 of those years in Owen Sound.
My introduction to the fitness side of recreation came later in life after having my 2 children. I had gained a lot of weight through both pregnancies, and someone told me that it was going to be hard to lose that weight, especially after having my second child. Exercise was never my thing, but I decided it was time to “get a little healthier” and prove that I could do it. I began by taking group fitness classes and changing my eating habits and started seeing results. I discovered how good exercise made me feel and I got hooked! I fell in love with CrossFit and indoor cycle classes and am now a CrossFit Level 1 trainer, certified personal trainer, and cycle instructor with no plans of stopping. As I continue to get older, I see every day just how important fitness and wellness is to me and to maintaining the active lifestyle I want forever. I enjoy sharing my love of fitness with others and watching people gain confidence, feel empowered and do things they didn’t think they could; both in the gym and in their outside lives!
I am passionate about helping people feel their best on all levels. I am a certified Level 2 Fascial Stretch Practitioner. Through Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST), I help clients manage pain, increase range of motion and flexibility in their joints, improve sleep, lower heart rate variability, and so much more. My primary focus is helping others be able to start or continue to lead active lifestyles through fitness and FST.
